A few articles on the more reflective end of things – these are the sort of words that you need to chew on, think over, and work into your life…

  1. “Soon will the Lord, my life, appear; Soon shall I end my trials here, Leave sin and sorrow, death and pain, To live is Christ, to die is gain.” Tim Challies reflects on how the death of a Christian can be gain…
  2. Often, when we think of prayer, we look for ways to be motivated – “pray because of…” Sometimes, as Jim Elliff points out in this article, we need to be motivated from the other direction: “if you don’t pray, then…”
  3. While we normally think of distractions as bad things, some distractions are good. Which ones? Jon Bloom works through how to know when a distraction is actually a good thing that you should give your attention to. Bloom’s words near the end of the article on discerning what you are called to do in your current phase of life are especially helpful.
