Ephesians 4:17-24 Were and Are 3/8/26 Sermon

In Christ, every Christian has been given a new identity, a new life. We don’t earn it, but we are called to receive it and live in it each and every day.

    Ephesians 4:11-16 Grow 3/1/26 Sermon

He gave… The church’s mission is to be and make disciples; we do that as we pursue Jesus in humility, gentleness, patience, love, and unity (4:2). But we can’t bring that about on our own! How does Jesus form us as a body? The answer Paul gives is that our maturing and equipping comes from Spirit-given gifts intended for the building up of God’s people. These gifts, in this example, look like people: apostles, prophets, evangelists, shepherds and teachers.

The call. Because Jesus has the victory and because we benefit in Him, we are called to act as the new kind of people that He has created us to be.

How to respond. The conclusion of Paul’s prayer is a response: not that we would do anything to bring about God’s blessing. Instead, the response is to worship: it’s to glorify the Lord who loves His church and answers such prayers and works in such people as we are!

Ephesians 3:1-13 On The Inside 2/8/26 Sermon

The mystery of Christ. Paul interrupts himself to make two important points at this stage of the letter: he has been given insight and understanding from the Lord which was to be passed on to Gentile Christians. And, second: that insight is into the mystery of Jesus now revealed – that God’s plan involves making one new people, neither Jew nor Gentile, who have access to Jesus through the gospel.

We are a member church of the Evangelical Free Church of America.
