Sermon Video:

3:13-14 Wisdom acts. Wisdom can be seen in how a person lives. True wisdom is the result of a life that is lived unto the Lord. But there are many counterfeit โ€œwisdomsโ€ โ€“ donโ€™t be misled! Anything less than what the Lord calls us to isnโ€™t true wisdom.

3:15-16 False wisdom. Bitter jealousy and selfish ambition arenโ€™t wisdom in any true sense. Though often practiced or pursued in our world, these are actually the ways toward disorder. They are evil practices that lead not to the Lord, but far from Him.

3:17-18 True wisdom. Actual wisdom looks like prizing what Jesus prized: a life lived unto the Lord. The pursuit of holiness is what we do when we trust and follow Jesus. Practically, this looks like a life of service to others, a life that seeks to have peace with one another.

The Point: True wisdom is to enjoy Christ and follow His pattern of living for God. We do that well when we look to lovingly serve one another.

Prayer: Lord, help us to not be deceived by counterfeit โ€œwisdom.โ€ In the midst of a world of so many voices and so much advice, help us to see and hear our Savior clearly. Teach us to walk by the Spirit and so honor you as we serve others.

Application: Which wisdom are you pursuing? It can be seen by your actions: is Jesus being proclaimed by what you say and do? Donโ€™t settle for anything less!

Here is how I will apply these truths: ___________________
