I’m not normally interested in “list” articles online. They are often dry, unspecific, and unhelpful. Yet, sometimes a list is exactly what you and I need; sometimes a list prods us to think. So, in a rare appearance, I present one article and two lists that I’ve found helpful, challenging, and encouraging. Read (maybe even bookmark or print off?) and grow…

  1. Continuing to think about Father’s Day, Ray Ortlund points us to what the Scriptures say about God our Father.
  2. Though Tim Challies is better known for his articles and his blog roundups, he has recently written two blog posts that he titles “40 Random Pieces of Advice for the Christian Life,” and “40 More Random Pieces of Advice for the Christian Life.” As I stated above, I generally ignore list articles, yet as I began to skim these, I ended up going back to read them in full because they were so well written and helpful. While they might be “random” in the sense that they are topical, the advice given within is full of wisdom and well worth your time. Take time to ponder them here and here. Consider taking one or two pieces of advice from each post and look for ways to put them into action in your life in the week ahead.
