Sermon Video:
3:14-19 What to knowโฆ We have a record of how Paul prayed for the Ephesian church. He focuses on four things: for spiritual strength, to be rooted and grounded in love, that the they would more fully know Christโs love, and that they would be filled with the fullness of God. These four requests should be ours as well โ these are the sorts of prayers that the Lord delights to answer!
3:20-21 How to respond. The conclusion of Paulโs prayer is a response: not that we would do anything to bring about Godโs blessing. Instead, the response is to worship: itโs to glorify the Lord who loves His church and answers such prayers and works in such people as we are!
The Point: God has done the miraculous in making a new, united people for Himself, a people known of as His church. Not only does He create such people, but He cares for us and is at work in and through us, for His glory and our joy.
Prayer: Lord, how amazingly privileged we are to be cared for in such miraculous, gracious, and eternal ways. Help each of us and all of us together to more fully grasp and respond to all that Christ has done for us, promised to us, and all that we can enjoy in Him now and forever.
Application: Do you pray with this kind of trust, this kind of boldness, this kind of intentionality about what God has said is true of His church? Practice praying in the sorts of ways that we see right here in the scriptures.
Here is how I will apply these truths: ___________________
