Sermon Video:
11:1-3 Get ready. At last, what the Hebrews had been waiting for was coming soon! There would be one more final, terrible, plague and then Godโs people would be free. Whatโs more, they would not go out empty-handed. God would provide for them just as He had protected them.
11:4-9 A great cry. The final plague would be devastating: every firstborn Egyptian male would die, alongside the firstborn of their cattle. The Egyptians would cry out to their false gods for help, but would find no comfort. Only crying out to the true God brings deliverance.
11:10 Where sin leads. Pharaoh remains hardened. He had long ago chosen his path and Godโs justice would be done. Godโs words would come completely and fully true.
The Point: God would be glorified by the rescue of His people and justice being done to those who work evil.
Prayer: Lord, help us to understand both the weight of sin and the amazing reassurance of your mercy. We need justice. Yet, none of us would survive based on our own record of sin. So we need mercy and grace. Thank you for providing in Jesus. Make us grateful to Him and passionate about telling others of how they, too, can be rescued in Christ.
Application: Only the Lord gives the perfect measure of both justice and mercy. Trust Him โ receive Christโs grace, have faith in Godโs timing, believe that His ways are best.
Here is how I will apply these truths: ___________________
