Given the recent Supreme Court ruling to strike down Roe vs. Wade, I want to take time this week and provide a number of links and resources for thinking through not only what just happened with regard to abortion in the United States, but also to help and guide us for what comes next…

  1. Joe Carter has a “Frequently Asked Questions” post about what just happened legally and what it means.
  2. Winfree Brisley has a helpful article on how to think through this moment and to respond faithfully.
  3. In our confused world, it would be easy to not recognize why Christians should oppose abortion. We are told that this is a political issue, but the reality is that this is an issue of life, an issue of what God has said, an issue of how He defines justice. If you are someone who isn’t sure why this is good news, Tim Counts’ article is helpful. And it’s also a good resource for all of us as we will no doubt have opportunities to speak with friends, family, and neighbors in the coming days and weeks who don’t see this as a wonderful thing.
  4. Crossway has posted a number of resources – a free ebook, articles, podcasts – that will be helpful for further equipping yourself and rejoicing at what the Lord has done.
  5. Moving forward, even as we celebrate we need to also remember that this does not mark the end of abortion overall. That mission has not yet been accomplished. Lauren McAfee provides a challenging call as well as some practical steps for what’s next.
  6. Finally, our denomination has provided two articles that speak to what our attitude should be during this time, and to how we can continue in prayer.

We are a member church of the Evangelical Free Church of America.
